Wow.. Thank-you Brian, and the Story's body shop crew...
I took my poor old 1996 chevy truck to Brian Story's body shop, to have a door spring put back into the door hinge area. I found out with an experts opinion, my mechanism had gotten bent somehow, causing the spring and closure mechanism to fall off of it's tracks, allowing the spring to pop out of it's carriage, and the door to close onto my legs, when getting in, or whatever was in the way. Whether it was the weight of the huge, extend-a-cab door, the age, or what happened, I am not sure.
I also inquired about having two beauty emblems put back onto the extend-a-cab area, that due to age, the adhesive had dry rotted, and were coming off, my 1996 Chevy truck.
I had mentioned that the last guy to work on my truck, at a different shop, when replacing a steering column ingnition assembly. Had some how connected or had a wire to the battery, and wipers, touching something that had my wipers engaging during ignition when the key was turned, causing my truck to struggle to turn over, with the wipers running even though they were not turned on.
I use this vehicle only a few times a month and this wire where ever it was grounding out at, was draining the battery, when sitting for a few days, even after a full charging and taking it for a spin around the block for 30 minutes. It struggled to stay charged, until my next weekly outing. I would drive it every week somewhere, trying to keep things lubricated up, and the tires from flat-spotting.
I only mentioned it to Brian, because he would have it there for a few days for the repairs for the door, and emblems, and I didn't want him to find the battery dead, when he went to work on it.
When I picked up my truck, he had not only put the door hinge and spring back in place, but had somehow disengaged the wipers from coming on when trying to start my truck. And that was not even part of the repairs. It was a wonderful surprise, as he did not even mention, they had gone the extra mile to fix this for me. Thank-you so much Story's.
My emblems unfortunately had deteriorated from their age when he tried to remove the old adhesive, so they could not be put back on. But told me if I ordered them from Amazon, and brought my truck back, he would install these for me. I am so overwhelmed at the kindness he showed me, and the extra mile he and his shop guys went, to get my truck functioning better for me, as you don't find shops like this very often, who still show such pride in their workmanship.
Another surprise.. and shocking bonus, he did not tell me... He had placed a free carwash coupon, on my dash on the instrument display.
I had mentioned I had run it through the car wash, and tried to clean it up, before bringing it over, wiping down the door jam, so it made the repair easier. But did not expect to find a free car wash coupon on the instrument dash when I jumped in, picking it up.
This is a shop I would highly recommend, for their pride in getting things right, and showing they care about every customers ride.
Thank-you again to all of the guys who may have helped to make sure my vehicle was safer to drive, easier to start and get into and not draining my battery. It is so much better than I had ever expected, when I brought it in, excellent job Story's. Thank-you.
As a women, it is so nice to find any kind of shop to work on things, needing repairs, that we do not have the specialty tools for, or knowledge, to repair ourselves, and not feeling we were taken advantage of.
A huge shout out to Story's for renewing my faith in humanity, and showing a bit if love for my old truck. Thank-you.

I cannot say enough positive comments about story collision center. Getting your card dinged up is never a pleasant experience but Story’s collision center went above and beyond to help me out. He’s also a very funny guy who made me laugh and who laughs when your car is dinged up? But I highly recommend him for quality of work, fair pricing, and one of those rare places that goes above and beyond to make their customers happy.
